Snake Gourd

One of the most beautiful gourds to grow is the snake gourds which is also called the Chinese cucumber or the Serpent Gourd. These have green rich leaves and white flowers that bloom around the summertime. After the flowers bloom they turn into an orange long slender vegetable. These fruits can reach up to 6 feet and is grown for medicines, to eat, or for decoration. The most common places to find the snake gourd are in Asia and Australia.

The taste of the snake gourd is that of a cucumber and in included in a lot of Asian dishes.
